We have many years of experience with cosmetic fillers and injectable. The use of ‘A type’ botulinum toxin also known as and manufactured by Allergan as Botox® was for the management of facial pain and migraine type pains caused by muscular problems in appropriate clinical situations. It is also more popularly known as a method of facial wrinkle reduction in some cases. New rules set by the Dental Board of Australia allow dentists to use Facial Injectable to treat conditions that cause facial pain and teeth grinding. Dentists are the most knowledgeable of the facial nerves and muscles to any other profession. It makes sense that we should be able to relieve our patients with the discretionary use of facial injectable, which has been successfully used overseas. Botox is used to relax the muscles causing the problem, whilst the Dermal fillers increase volume in the area of the creases by raising collagen volume, skin texture and quality, and rebuilding facial proportions. As our ligaments and skin become stretched this causes sagging and ultimately wrinkles the aim of the treatment is to enhance existing facial features, correct small defects and improve facial symmetry. Where the fillers are successful is: (a) Treatment of the folds which radiate down from the side of the nose towards the corner of the mouth (b) Lips (inflate their appearance, remove lines around them) (c) Jaw line (remove the fat looking lower jowls) (d) Chin (increase chin projection and remove horizontal creases between the lower border of the face and the mouth. The combination of these materials is a wonderful adjunct to help the overall appearance of the face, especially after some of the complex aesthetic and structural changes I make to the teeth and really extend the scope of treatment I can provide for my patients. As always it always starts with a detailed consultation with the patient to see exactly what they would like to achieve and how I can help. Cut the air and frame your gaze. Beautiful, high and defined cheekbones are associated with royalty, health and sensuality. A perfect cheekbone lies in the middle third of the face, runs parallel to the line of the jaw and points to the tragus of the ear. By placing the appropriate dermal filler over the zygomatic bone, our artistic team can give you the cheekbones you desire. By selecting the correct density of filler, you are empowered to choose hard or soft cheekbones. Furthermore by correcting placing filler through the cheeks, the nasolabial fold can be gently lifted.

This technically difficult area can be treated with filler and anti-wrinkle solution. Filler treatment requires the thin threading of the agent with expert hands. Thin fillers such as our premium facial area optimised for this area can be used to restore these areas and achieve a smooth firmness. Anti-wrinkle agents can also be used to decrease the pursing of the lips, thereby decreasing the impact of pursing and the resulting lines.

Fillers in this area can enhance cheek size or lift when there’s an undesirable fall and weakening in the area resulting in a droop. Our team can treat this area to widen a narrow face, or refill depleted lower cheeks to achieve a rejuvenated appearance. In proper amounts, they can also help smooth out lumpy fat degeneration. Our team exercise great skill and attention to detail in ensuring that these areas are not filled excessively to achieve a fresh and natural looking result.

Do people say you always look sad or angry? It could be because your marionette lines have deepened. Similar to the nasolabial fold, this deep line originates at the corner of the lips and stretches down towards the mandible, often disappearing as it approaches the face edge. A negative angle at the corner of the lips often accompanies this line, which can be reversed with accurate and precise placement of the appropriate filler. Not only can the line be filled but a smile twinkles in the corners of the lips at rest. The effect is often extraordinary.

The horizontal lines that are formed by elevating the eyebrows are called forehead lines. An anti-wrinkle treatment popular among our clientele. Our team is skilled in using precise techniques and distribution methods that can achieve the elevation or even lowering of the eyebrows. Fine fillers to support these areas may also be of assistance.

Do you have acne scars or old lacerations that have left an uneven surface on your face? Does makeup pool in these regions? Do you always notice your scars in photos? By careful and meticulous placement of fillers designed to lift and contour the face, a continuous surface can be restored to give you a picture-perfect finish. Each region needs careful inspection by our staff, who can give you information on what lesions can and cannot be optimised. Call us now to arrange a complimentary consultation.

Submental Fat, typically referred to as a “double chin,” is a very common complaint among both men and women. Influenced by factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain, submental fat is often difficult to reduce through diet and exercise alone. Previously, only surgical procedures such as liposuction or a neck lift could improve the contour of the neck. Now, a new option is available. KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe submental fat. The active ingredient in KYBELLA is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat in the body. Administered through a series of injections under the chin, KYBELLA effectively destroys fat cells, preventing the storage or accumulation of fat. For this reason, KYBELLA is considered a permanent, non-surgical treatment option.. Our professionals will work with you to design a customized treatment plan to improve the profile of your neck and chin. Treatment sessions are spaced at least one month apart, with the majority of patients experiencing visible results after two to four months.

Sculptra is used to add volume to areas of the face and body and create a soft, more youthful appearance to the skin. It works by stimulating the skin to produce it’s own natural collagen, which results in a contoured youthful appearance. It is ideal for patients who want a natural approach in facial rejuvenation, as it does not rely on fillers or injectables. Instead, dermal volume and elasticity are formed by triggering the body’s own natural healing process within the deep dermis layer of the skin. Treatment typically involves three injection sessions over the course of several months, and results can last for years. Benefits:- Adds Volume and Improved Elasticity- Stimulates Natural Collagen- Long Lasting Results

A procedure that has been used successfully for decades to heat spine and joint injuries is now becoming the treatment of choice by women and men on face and body to improve the appearance of skin and wrinkles. PRP therapy involves injection of the patients own platelets and fibrin for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles. Known to some as the "vampire facelift" it is less invasive then plastic surgery.

There are numerous factors that influence the face’s loss of volume: skin, muscles, bones, as well as life habits such as smoking or sun baking. The correct dermal filler procedure for you also depends on the amount of volume you need added and the areas of the face you need treated. The main advantage of a dermal filler treatment is that changes are obtained subtly, with consecutive sessions. This enables the treated areas to be volumed while still looking natural. Dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with wrinkle injections in personalised treatment plans for optimum results.

Injectable wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful look for a fraction of what a traditional facelift costs. Most will fill hollows, lines, and wrinkles in less than 30 minutes with results that can last from 4 months to more than a year. Injectable wrinkle fillers, unlike Botox injections that relax the muscle under a wrinkle, fill the line, crease, or area with one of several different substances. As a result, trouble spots nearly disappear. Wrinkle fillers can also be used as "volumizers," plumping and lifting cheeks, chins, jawlines, and temples; filling out thin lips, and plumping sagging hands. The treatment is fast and easy. But all wrinkle fillers have a downside, including the risk of allergic reaction and the formation of tiny bumps under the skin. In some cases, those bumps may be permanent. And sometimes, a bluish skin discoloration known as the Tyndall effect happens. The colour change can last for several months, but there are treatments available. In very rare cases, skin cells may die if the wrinkle fillers are not used properly. There have also been a few reported cases of blindness and nerve paralysis. Typically, the wrinkle fillers that last longer are the ones more likely to cause side effects. Not every wrinkle-filler is right for every type of wrinkle. The least risks and best results come from using the right one correctly. That's why you should only have fillers injected by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with ongoing, special training. Here is a breakdown of available wrinkle fillers. It includes their basic ingredients, how they work, their pros and cons, and the best areas for treatment. Your doctor can help you choose the right one for you. 1-Hyaluronic Acid Wrinkle FillersThe most popular category of wrinkle fillers is hyaluronic acid. Each type works in a slightly different way with varying results. Side effects are rare but can include redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site. The filler may also show up under the skin as tiny bumps. This is a problem that often improves over time. The results last varies from several months to over a year or two. Some research shows that repeated injections may help stimulate the body's own natural production of collagen. That will help reduce the number of lines and wrinkles. There is also some evidence that less filler is needed over time to achieve the same look. Hyaluronic acid wrinkle fillers include: Belotero BalanceHylaFormJuvederm Voluma XCJuvederm XCJuvederm Ultra XCJuvederm Volbella XCPrevelle SilkRestylaneRestylane-LRestylane-LiftRestylane SilkRestylane RefyneRestylane Defyne 2-Synthetic Wrinkle FillersThis smaller category of wrinkle fillers includes lab-made substances that are not related to anything found naturally in the skin. All the fillers in this group have similar side effects, such as redness, swelling, or bruising at the site of the injection. Other side effects include nodules or bumps under the skin that can be seen and felt and that, in rare instances, may require surgery to remove. The benefits include a longer-lasting effect. And at least one filler offers semi-permanent filling of lines and creases. Remember, products with longer-lasting effects are more likely to cause side effects. And when not used correctly, synthetic wrinkle fillers may cause disfigurement. Synthetic wrinkle fillers include: BellafillRadiesseSculptraSilicone 3-Collagen Wrinkle FillersScientists made the first wrinkle fillers from a purified form of collagen extracted mostly from cows. Although it worked well and offered a natural-looking fill, the results didn't last long. Most collagen injections began to break down as early as 1 month after treatment. Because these wrinkle fillers were made from an animal source, they also had a higher rate of allergic reaction and required allergy testing beforehand. New ways of processing the collagen have helped lower the risks. Plus, new forms of synthetic collagens are making these injections safer and more useful to a wider range of people. Although the results don't last as long as other wrinkle fillers, many believe the results are more natural looking. Side effects of collagen injections include some risk of allergic reaction (mostly for those still using cow sources), as well as bruising and redness at the site of the injection. Collagen injections include: CosmodermEvolenceFibrelZydermZyplast 4- Autologous Wrinkle FillersFat is the most commonly used substance in this category. Your own fat is surgically removed from your thighs, buttocks, or stomach, treated, then injected. You will need to have two procedures (one to remove the fat and one to inject it). Both procedures can be done in one visit. Additional fat purification steps done in the lab can be costly and time-consuming. Results can be semi-permanent, although you may need a series of injections done over time. Platelet-rich plasma injections (“vampire lift”) are another type of autologous wrinkle filler/volumizer. Blood is drawn from the arm, treated, and then injected into the face. The effects can last 12 to 18 months. Risks are similar to other wrinkle fillers, including bruising, redness, and swelling at the site of the injection. Because the fillers come from your body, these injections do not require FDA approval.

Wrinkle fillers are among the safest cosmetic procedures in use today. But there are things you can do to help ensure your treatment is safe: Don't let price be your guide. If you are offered a wrinkle filler treatment that costs far less than the standard treatment, it's likely some compromises are being made, either in the skill of the provider or the quality of the product. Never risk making a bargain with your face. All wrinkle fillers should be done in a medical setting with sterile instruments. Treatments done in homes, hotels, spas, or resorts are not being done in medical environments, regardless of who is doing them.Do not get injectable wrinkle fillers from sources outside a doctor's office. Know what you are being injected with, and ask your doctor if an FDA-approved wrinkle filler is being used and if it was purchased directly from the maker. There have been reports of everything from industrial-grade silicone to baby oil being used. If a provider won't give you this information, don't let them do the procedure.Use sunscreen daily to help preserve the filler and help protect against post-inflammatory pigment changes due to the needle sticks from injections.

Hyaluronic acid gel, Juvederm Facial Filler: Made of a hyaluronic acid gel, Juvederm is a naturally-occurring substance in the skin that contributes to volume and hydration. Juvederm is designed to temporarily correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm is made by Allergan, the same makers of Botox.

BTX / Dermal Fillers can be used in conjunction with dentistry as part of a smile makeover. Conditions like gummy smile, which previously required surgery to correct, can easily be treated with injectable to dramatically change the look of your smile. Similarly, dermal fillers can be used to plump the lips up subtly, which again enhances the smile.

Injections of BTX and Dermal Fillers have very predictable and reliable outcomes with few side effects. The treatments themselves are temporary by nature, with any effects completely wearing off with time. The majority of minor side effects resulting from treatment are actually to do with the injection technique rather than the material itself. A full list of post-care instructions will be issued to you in order to minimise the side effects and maximise the results.

The prices for injectable really depend on each individual case, making it difficult to quote upfront like other procedures, e.g. teeth whitening. However Mascot Dental Clinic is offering a complimentary consultation to work out a treatment plan and quote.

Hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be the most temporary option, and therefore are often recommended for first-time filler patients. These will typically last from 6 to 18 months. Injections to the lips will wear out a little faster than those to the nasolabial folds.

Facial wrinkles and lines can be reduced with cosmetic injections into the skin. The two main types of injectable substances used are botulinum toxin type A (which relaxes the facial muscles that cause the lines) and dermal fillers (which plump out the wrinkles).

Side effects of facial fillers:- redness- swelling- pain- bruising- itching- rash

Voluma is formulated specifically for the cheek area and it generally lasts for up to two years, much longer than other hyaluronic acid formulas. Another filler that tends to be long-lasting is Radiuses, an anti-aging filler that typically lasts up to 18 months.

The results can be seen instantly (from as little as 15 minutes) however they may take slightly longer depending on individual response.

You can expect minimal discomfort and very little to no downtime at all. Your consultation and treatment can be as quick as 15 minutes, however if you require more than one injection site your treatment may take slightly longer. Many patients visit us for rejuvenation during their lunch break, and happily return back to work straight away.

You should consider anti-aging injectable if you wish to correct any of the following: Smile linesCrows feet around the eyesGummy smileFrown linesSmokers lip linesSagging or undefined jaw-lineNon-surgical nose enhancementWrinkles

A single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 24 months depending on the thickness of the product and a number of biological factors of an individual client. We use dermal filler injections to give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As we age, our face changes over time, so dermal fillers allow you to control your looks subtly as you age.

At One smile Clinic, we carry a range of dermal fillers to cater to the exact needs of each client. We use only the best brands and we always have plenty stock as dermal fillers are very popular with our clients.

Dermal filler products vary in thickness, anaesthetic content and longevity. Each brand names each thickness of filler definitely so think of the name as a way to recognize the different product easily.

The TGA prevent doctors from advertising the names of prescription medicines, so it is actually illegal for any clinic to mention the trade names on their website or otherwise. We do however have the leading brands of all fillers and when you have your consultation we can freely talk about the options available.

Depending on the area, your practitioner may apply or inject a local anaesthetic to the area to be treated. Some of the fillers already contain local anaesthetic which also makes the treatment tolerable.

We believe temporary fillers are the best option, so permanent fillers are not available at One smile Clinic. Permanently filled lips or cheeks could appear out of place as your face changes with natural ageing. The longevity of dermal fillers ranges from 6-12 months depending on the brand, thickness and area treated. Individual body factors such as how fast your body metabolises the product are also relevant to how long the filler lasts.

Our most used dermal filler is the most scientifically documented HA based dermal filler in the world with comprehensive studies that support its safety and efficacy. It has been used in over 10 million treatments worldwide during the last twelve years and it is safe. Because the dermal filler resembles the substances that occur naturally in the body, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal.

Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin. The most common areas treated are:- Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds)- Between the eyebrows (the glabella lines)- Lips (adding volume and shape)- Cheeks

One of the great advantages of dermal filler treatment is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Dermal filler products are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial treatment. Our staff will guide you on the appropriate time for your follow-up appointment. Duration also depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips lasts about 6 months.

Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. Dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women, individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure. During your pre-treatment consultation, you should thoroughly discuss your medical history with your treating nurse or doctor.

More than 10 million treatments have been performed since the launch of the original dermal filler in 1996. Product related reactions are very rare. There are however occasional injection related reactions which may occur after any injection; they typically resolve spontaneously a few days after injection to the skin, within a week after injection into the lips. These reactions include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. After lip enhancement, lips may swell for up to a week, but this typically reduces after two to three days.

A dermal filler is an injectable solution that fills the soft tissue under the skin. ... Dermal fillers are ideal for filling increases and lines, plumping up the lips and cheeks, and enhancing facial contours. In general, a dermal filler procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.

Severe complications from dermal fillers are uncommon. Potential risks vary depending on the specific filler used and the relative permanence of the filler substance and include: - Acne-like skin eruptions- Asymmetry- Bruising, bleeding from the injection site, may occur after Dysport®/Botox® injections.Substances that increase the risk of bruising include:Herbal medications, vitamin e, aspirin, motrin, coumadin, other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatorydrugs, fish oil and blood thinners.- Damage to the skin that results in a wound and possible scarring- Infection at the injection site- Lumps- Palpability of the filler under the surface of the skin- Skin rash with itching- Skin redness- Under- or over-correction of wrinkles- Blindness- Redness.- Tenderness.- Itching, rash.- Difficulty in performing activities (only observed when injected into the back of the hand)- Skin necrosis (ulceration or loss of skin from disruption of blood flow)- Transient headache- Swelling- Pain during injection,- Twitching,- Itching,- numbness,- Asymmetry (unevenness),- Temporary dropping of the eyelids or eyebrow. These side effects are rare, but have been reported. In a very small number of individuals, the injection may not work satisfactorily or for as long as usual. Known significant risks will have been disclosed to you, the client, yet the theoretical risk of unknown complications does exist.Bruising These risks and others will be fully discussed prior to your consent.

All pre-checks are completed prior to you having your treatment. There are certain conditions where Dysport®/Botox® treatments are not recommended. These include Neurological diseases Myasthenia gravisEaton-Lambert syndromeLou Gehrig’s diseasePregnancy or breastfeeding

If you have never had any anti-wrinkle procedures done before then you may have expectations which are higher than can be expected. Be open and honest and discuss the results you are expecting with your consultant.

The consultation will generally be done immediately prior to your appointment. If you have any concerns regarding the procedure, please voice your concerns during your consultation. You can book a consultation, obligation free, at either of our clinics, prior to your appointment if you wish.

No, the results are not permanent. Every person is different as your body will metabolise the product differently from others. The general period for Botox®/Dysport® is approximately 12 – 14 weeks. Fillers, on the other hand, will metabolise at a very different rate and our staff can only provide you a period of time as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

There is no down time with any injectable procedure which means you can go straight back to your pre-appointment activities. We do recommend that you do not do the following activities for at least 24 hours: No alcohol. No strenuous exercise (where you would sweat).Nothing that is going to elevate your blood pressure. Most importantly – DO NOT TOUCH THE INJECTION AREA. We all have bacteria on our hands and we don’t want that getting into the wound where the needle was injected and you could move the product causing little or no result.

At One smile Clinic, as with any invasive procedure, there are risks. There are also possible side effects which you need to be aware of. These are listed on the consent form which you will have received prior to your appointment.

Anti-wrinkle injections can be completed in one sitting.Dermal volume filler is restricted by the number of areas which can be completed in 1 sitting. We restrict the numbers of areas due to 2 very important things:The stress on your face can be quite distressing for some clients. As most areas are “next to one another” we do request that you allow the first area to settle before injecting into the 2nd area.
